[The device clicks on to a dark room. A bed is positioned in the centre, where two figures sleep. After a few moments, the peace is interrupted by a high-pitch wail. Many may recognise it as the familiar cry of oh-god-I-am-a-baby-and-I-just-woke-up-alone-what-is-this? The figure nearest the camera rolls over, and is unmistakably the bleary-eyed face of Stephen Stills. He groans and shoves the figure next to him in the shoulder.]

Cas! Wake up. It's your turn. How the hell do you sleep through that, anyway?





[Ooc: FAMILY DAY CUUUUUUUURSE! So basically, a bunch of us got together and decided to make the most elaborate and ridiculous Family Day Curse ever. This family tree is This-a-way for those of you who are interested. For the cliffnotes - Poncho-Kun, Hanna, and Stephen are brothers. Stephen is married to Castiel and Rose Lalonde is their daughter. Dave Strider is Nameless Dude's bastard son via Hooker. Demyx may or may not be related to them all somehow but lives near by anyway. There will be various action threads for various times in their family history, but also feel free to video or audio post if you feel your char needs to WTF at this apparent new family. :-D]

[ Castiel barely moves at first. It takes Stephen's voice stopping and another shriek from Rose to make him snuffle awake. ]

I'm up-- I'm up. Dad's coming, Rosie, you just...

[ Thwack. That's his toe into the bed. He is unfazed, though, and continues shuffling out through the door. Moments later, the crying quiets down, and Castiel returns with his precious baby in his arms. ]

[If he weren't so fucking tired, Stephen would probably laugh at that. Instead he JUST manages to hoist his head off the pillow to look up as they come in.]

Four years later - first day of Kindergarten

[A very young Rose Lalonde is sat at the breakfast table, scowling slightly. She doesn't get why she has to go and be surrounded by other kids in order to learn when she could just as happily sit with a pile of books and be left alone.]

[Conversely a slightly older looking Stephen Stills is in the kitchen with her. He turns around from the stove and slips an 'R' shaped pancake onto her plate.]

Voila! Turned out pretty good this time, don't you think?

[Unlike your brothers, Demyx doesn't knock a few times. Or at all, in fact. Stephen and Castiel have learned to regret uttering the words 'our home is your home' and 'feel free to drop by whenever you'd like', several times over. They have even dropped subtle and not-so-subtle hints about this at some point, but Demyx often laughs it off, possibly believing them to be joking, or possibly not caring.

The point being, the fact that he enters the house without warning? Not so unexpected for him. He does, of course, give a proper greeting.]

What's there to eat?

[ . . . Well, he's a teenager. The word 'polite' was never used. Just proper. This is proper for him.]

[Stephen doesn't even bother looking up from his coffee anymore.]

Leave the quiche alone, it's for lunch tomorrow.
