[The device clicks on to a dark room. A bed is positioned in the centre, where two figures sleep. After a few moments, the peace is interrupted by a high-pitch wail. Many may recognise it as the familiar cry of oh-god-I-am-a-baby-and-I-just-woke-up-alone-what-is-this? The figure nearest the camera rolls over, and is unmistakably the bleary-eyed face of Stephen Stills. He groans and shoves the figure next to him in the shoulder.]

Cas! Wake up. It's your turn. How the hell do you sleep through that, anyway?

[Ooc: FAMILY DAY CUUUUUUUURSE! So basically, a bunch of us got together and decided to make the most elaborate and ridiculous Family Day Curse ever. This family tree is This-a-way for those of you who are interested. For the cliffnotes - Poncho-Kun, Hanna, and Stephen are brothers. Stephen is married to Castiel and Rose Lalonde is their daughter. Dave Strider is Nameless Dude's bastard son via Hooker. Demyx may or may not be related to them all somehow but lives near by anyway. There will be various action threads for various times in their family history, but also feel free to video or audio post if you feel your char needs to WTF at this apparent new family. :-D]

[He grins at her.] Really? I'm here all the time. Not tired of me, are you?

Not at all. I'm simply surprised that you choose to visit quite so often.

Yeah, well. Parents are away. Again. Business and stuff. It gets boring pretty quickly when there's no one else in the house to bother. You know how it is. [Or, rather, you don't.]

So, what're you up to?

Having no-one else in the house to bother doesn't sound so bad to me. But then, I can see how it might get old.

[Really she means, having no-one else in the house to bother her rather sounds like her kind of thing but, you know]

Nothing that can't be interrupted.

I mean, it does give me a lot of time to practice. But yeah. Pretty old.

Cool. So, how're you doing in school? As far as the other kids. Not like grades. You're still, like, top of your class, including the teachers, right?

Huh. I guess I don't think about things like that. My dads can be overbearing at times but generally they leave me to do my own thing.

[She moves further into her room, motioning for him to find somewhere to sit. If he can. She's not the tidiest kid]

Of course. Seeing the looks on their faces when they figure that out still hasn't got old. But, you know. [She shrugs] It'll be time for high school soon enough and then I'll have a whole new set of kids to freak out.

Yeah, they're pretty cool. You know, for parents.

[He notices, he just doesn't say anything. His own room is neat only because he's not in it all that much. He finds a pretty good space to sit and leans back.]

Do you actually set out to give them the willies or what? I've never been able to figure that out. [non-chalant wave] High school's alright, depending on what your schedule's like.

[Another shrug] I can't help it if my interests are distasteful to the brainless masses. If there are some I have been more explicit towards, then perhaps yes I could be said to be unsettling them intentionally but it isn't as though the conclusions haven't already been drawn beforehand.

That sucks. [Propping himself up on an elbow.] Most of the kids are dicks anyway. You're much cooler than they are.

[She can't help but smile a little at that]

That's a lie, but one I won't say I don't appreciate.

Nah. Don't worry about it. [He grins again and ruffles his hair a little as he stretches.]

You figure out what you wanna do when you're older? 'Cause they keep raggin' on us about it in our school, and it's getting annoying.

You mean you don't fit into one of their neatly defined slots where they can shove you into the least appropriate future path possible?

[She shakes her head]

I still want to pursue psychoanalysis. But apparently knowing that while still so young means I don't actually know what I want and to pursue that would be a waste of time.

Well. I mean, I don't really know what I want to do. I mean, I kinda like fish and water and stuff, so maybe something like marine biology, but- without all the science-y stuff. So, I guess that I don't really have any idea.

[He relaxes more.]

It seems like that'd be a good fit for you. Did they actually say that you're too young to know what you wanna do?

I guess there's always Seaworld.

[Gentle teasing smirk there for you, Demyx]

Not in so many words. They just give me this knowing little look every time I mention it, like at any moment I'll snap out of this "dream" and start taking my future seriously.

Hah! Yeah, I'll be the best Shamu they've ever seen.

[Although that's actually not a bad idea, maybe. He'll hold onto that thought.]

Aren't they supposed to give those to everyone that says 'astronaut' or 'superhero' or 'president' or something?

If it happens, I want discount on entry.

[And that smirk is actually almost a smile now]

You would think that their scepticism would be reserved for those with such juvenile responses but no. Perhaps they are merely concerned that I don't comply with "normal" enough to be able to diagnose others.

And a free hat.

Well, screw whatever 'normal' is. What's normal, anyway? No one here fits their definition, and I'll bet that they don't even fit their own definitions!

[Even though she's overplaying it slightly, she likes him enough that she also sort-of means it]

I would have to agree with you. I think they're just afraid it would be a matter of the patients running the asylum were I in charge.

[He's obviously messing about with being Shamu, but if he ever makes it big in this universe, he'll pretty much ensure that she, and the rest of the family, are always doing alright.]

No, but they seem to have this image of what a psychologist should be like and apparently I don't fit it.
