So... I got a cat.

[Stephen reaches down off-screen and comes back up with a rather scruffy and slightly derp-looking cat. The cat mews loudly and squirms a little in his grasp.

Having Milo for the day made me kind of miss having a pet around. I always had cats growing up, and I was walking by the animal shelter after work, so...

[Stephen drops the cat back in his lap, who uses this opportunity to try and bat at Stephen's device.]

He's not the smartest guy in the world, but... I kind of like him.

[Stephen smiles. A real, genuine, warm smile.]

I named him Neil. Kind of a long story.


Anyway, is everyone staying safe with all the rampaging carousel animals?

Is the thing with the carousel animals a curse or...just something that happens regularly here, because it seems like the sort of thing that should have been in the guide.

Definitely not something that happens regularly. Although it doesn't really seem like a curse, either. Just a weird... occurrence.

A "weird occurrence". Well...at least it's not regular and at...least I know about it now. Running across the square away from a giant dog is not something I want to happen more than once.

I'm pretty sure he's not a zombie. So I think we're safe.

Are you alright, though? I know some people who got caught outside with the carousel animals and apparently they've gotten pretty nasty.

My roommate back home's name is Neil. We've been friends for a long time and the cat kinda reminded me of him.

Guess it really isn't that long a story, actually.
