#43 - [accidental video]

[totallyinaband]

[The video feed opens to the Stills/Nordegraf kitchen, looking in a little more of a state than usual. Various food items are all piled up on the counter, and the garbage bin is out on the floor, filled to the top with opened packages. Stephen can be seen half-buried in the open fridge. He leans out, a sponge in hand, and uses his wrist to push his hair back from his face. He looks frazzled - alright more frazzled than usual. He tossed the sponge into the sink and starts rounding up all the food on the counter, giving each one a cursory sniff and tossing a few more in the garbage.]

Neil! What did I tell you about keeping an eye on the freaking food you buy! Half this stuff reeks!

[He sniffs at an open package of bacon. For a moment something other than disgust passes over his features. Something almost... desiring. It only lasts a moment, however, and he ends up throwing the whole package in the bin.]

And it's your turn to take out the trash!

[He glances up and notices the blinking light on his device.]

Oh, for fuck's sake!

[He reaches forward, and the feed ends.]

Ethics aside, I just don't really like the taste.

[ Does not compute. This is food. ]

Yeah. Animal cruelty. Over-farming. Carbon footprint. All that stuff.

But they're animals. Big whoop.

They still have feelings.

Because they're living things?

...Aren't plants living?

[totallyinaband]

Yeah, but they're not self-aware.

[commarogue]

[ Okay, that...makes sense. ]

I guess that's cool. I'm still eating burgers though. With bacon.

Fair enough. It's not for everyone.

Just like that rice. [ Okay at this point she's just pushing Stephen's buttons. The guy's growing on her, whatever. ]

[ Yeah, so lucky. She smiles and snatches another beer after disposing of her bottle. ]

Well, I just figured I'd drop in and see if you needed anything...but it looks like you got it locked down. Neat freak.

[ At this point, Stephen's harmless enough and friendly enough that Faith's cool with giving him a solid pat on the back. You are now her bro. ]
